Privacy Policy

Effective: 16 October 2026. Last updated: 16 October 2026. This policy explains what AmericanFSBO collects, why, and what choices you have. Contact: hello@americanfsbo.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we can't read it).
• Listing content: property facts, descriptions, photos, and open-house details you publish. Published listings are public by design.
• Messages: inquiries you send through the site's contact form, so sellers can respond.
• Ownership attestations: your confirmation that you own the property or are authorized to sell it, with the IP address it was submitted from.
• Payment references: Stripe customer and payment identifiers and purchase status. We never see or store your card number — card details go directly to Stripe.
• Security logs: login attempts and rate-limit records used to prevent abuse.
• Visit verifications: if you tap "I'm here" to rate a listing, we record your location at that moment and your rating.

Why we collect it

To run the marketplace: accounts, listings, buyer-seller messaging, billing, fraud prevention, and keeping listings accurate. We collect the minimum needed for each purpose.

Who we share it with

• Stripe — payment processing. Card details go to Stripe via Stripe.js; we receive only customer and payment reference IDs.
• Printify — prints and ships the FSBO Selling Kit you order. Receives your name, shipping address, email, and the QR/listing reference for your kit.
• Hostinger — website hosting and email delivery.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone else. Published listing content is visible to site visitors — that's the point of a marketplace.

Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to web-browser "Do Not Track" signals.

We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your activities over time and across third-party websites through our service, other than:

• Stripe, whose fraud-prevention tools load on our payment pages (see "Cookies" below); and
• Printify, which receives your name, shipping address, and order details solely to print and ship FSBO Selling Kits you order.

Both are governed by their own privacy policies.

Cookies

Our payment pages load Stripe's checkout tools, which may set fraud-prevention cookies (such as __stripe_mid). These are set by Stripe and governed by Stripe's cookie policy. Our own site sets a single session cookie to keep you signed in; we set no advertising cookies.

Data retention

Account and listing data is kept while your account is active. Paused or cancelled listings are retained (not deleted) so you can reactivate them. Backups are encrypted and retained for 30 days. You can ask us to delete eligible data any time.

Your choices

• Access, correct, or delete your account information from your dashboard or by emailing us.
• Pause or remove your listings any time.
• Let your free trial run its course and nothing is charged — no card is needed to start.

Changes

We'll post updates here with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced to account holders by email.
